There
have been a lot of wierdos, oddbods, and crackpots featured
on Medinner. This episode features the oddest of them
all. With an odd electro introduction, the video takes
us to the front door of a Brentwood Council flat; the
voiceover tells us that eccentricity and genius are
often confused- Bob lets us decide. The guy sits down
and tells the camera that the Ancient Egyptians flew
around the world in paper aeroplanes. Bob is shocked
to virtual silence, and lets the old guy tell us
how the Egyptians 'just took off' in their unpowered
aeroplanes from the ground. When you look at the Nazca
Lines in Peru, theories like this have been considered
before. However, this guy talks absolute rubbish- telling
us magic carpets flew, different cultures made different
parts of the plane, and Tutankhamen's Sarcophagus was
actually his flying suit! The pyramids were airports,
Icarus flew with real wings, the Egyptians had to go
through customs on arrival, and the Ankh helped pilots
to fly. The episode concludes with various attempts
to make models of the aeroplanes fly...
